Aluminium wire in electric fence installations
Aluminium wire has a very good corrosion resistance, as it builds up its own protection by its oxide layer. The wire can be pulled with a force of 25 Kg. The temperature expansion factor is high, but if the wire is tensioned as indicated, its own elasticity functions as a spring and can thus compensate for the temperature effect.
Joining the wire ends is best accomplished by using aluminium crimp ferrules with the same material composition as the wire. If all materials have the same composition, there will be no electrolytic effect, which can lead to corrosion and eventually breaking of the wire.

The length of live wire is where half of the energizer output voltage drops across the wire and the other half across a person touching the wire. This value relates to any energizer being used. The resistance of a human body is standardized at 500 Ohms.
This information should give you a better understanding of what an electric fence installation involves and what questions to askto make sure your electric fence is installed professionally.
